Once upon a time, there was a castle—and a man who told me exactly what I wanted to hear.
At first, it felt like a fairytale. He said all the right things. Promised the kind of life I’d always dreamed of. I wanted to believe it so badly. Not just the romance, but the security. The meaning. The story that would make everything make sense.
But here’s what I know now:
This isn’t just about romance.
It’s about opportunity.
About how easily we can get swept up in what sounds good.
And how painful it can be when the actions don’t match the words.
Seduction doesn’t just happen in love stories.
It happens in business.
In churches.
In leadership.
Even in personal development.
That’s why it’s so important to get crystal clear on who you are, what you want, and what you value—before you give your power away to someone else’s promise.
Because when you do, you stop waiting for a seat… and start building the table yourself.
This photo was taken years after I walked away from his castle.
Turns out, I didn’t need a fairytale.
I needed the truth.
And I needed God.
This story? It’s mine.
But it’s also His.
And every chapter reminds me what happens when we trust the truth more than the illusion.
